What is the operator precedence in OpenSCAD?

OpenSCAD User Manual's section on operators does not mention precedence. Quick Web searches found nothing. I assume the usual order of exponentiation, then multiplication, then addition does hold, but how does e.g. a conditional operator or unary…

How can I print a backlit keycap?

Using 3D printing I'd like to create a text oversized keycap that uses several strong LEDs to make the text light as red or green, depending on status. It's quite similar to what are called annunciators on aircraft: I'd like to create an MX…

PLA filament becomes brittle inside PTFE tube

I know that it's said the PLA becomes brittle when kept in a humid environment, but my case is slightly weirder: I have rolls of 1.75 mm PLA that I bought years ago and they are fine. But if I leave my spool fed inside the PTFE (Teflon) tube of my…

What temperature should I bake PLA prints at to increase strength?

I recall seeing that it's possible to "bake" or "anneal" or even "remelt" PLA prints to strengthen them. As I understand it, the main effect is improving layer adhesion, which is the main source of weakness in tension in the original Z-axis…

Jagged edge on one side and not on the other side

As you can see the left side of the edge came out jagged. The right side came out just fine. What happened to the left side? I am using Ender 3 + BLTouch using Sunlu PLA+ with 200 °C hotend. Here are my retraction settings (if that matters):

Perimeters/shells not properly fusing - delamination

I come to you all in my time of need, as I have nowhere else to turn. I’ve been a 3D printer for about two years now. I have an Ender 5 Plus. Up to this point, all of my prints were fine straight out of the box; no need to calibrate anything besides…

Ender 3 v2 intermittent problem - clearly visible layers

I bought an Ender 3 v2 in January 2021 for my second printer. I have had an Ender 3 for two years and love the quality it prints. This new printer has been plagued with issues since day one. Creality sent me a new mainboard and fan due to issues.…

How to improve this Benchy? BIQU B1

I have just acquired my first 3D printer, a BIQU B1. Overall I'm quite pleased with the printing results but I'm having minor defects on the Benchy test. I'm not sure what the problem is, but I guess it's related to the overhang and maybe…

Why does OpenSCAD fail to cut holes in polygon sides that are exactly the width of the wall?

I'm trying to make a frame for a lithograph that I plan to 3D print for my wife for Mother's Day. I typically will have my differences be exactly the right size (rather than oversizing it for the sake of the preview) because it gives me a good feel…
